We are incredibly proud to announce this year we will once again be sponsoring both serving Cornwall Air Ambulance helicopters.

Cornwall Air Ambulance first took to the skies in 1987, since then they have completed 27,631 missions saving countless lives across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. One of the lives saved by this incredible service is that of Sophie Harris, daughter of Ann’s Cottage owner and Managing Director Rob Harris. Ann’s Cottage has supported the Cornwall Air Ambulance for 14 consecutive years and it is a charity that we truly believe in.

Robert Harris, Owner and Managing Director of Ann’s Cottage: “Supporting the Cornwall Air Ambulance has been an absolute pleasure over the years; it’s a charity that really makes an incredible difference saving lives. After my daughter, Sophie suffered life-threatening injuries in a road traffic accident in 2004 it was the quick response and medical support given to Sophie from the emergency services including the Cornwall Air Ambulance that saved her life! To be able to sponsor the helicopters for the next 12 months is a fantastic opportunity.”

With an average on-scene arrival time of 12 minutes in mainland Cornwall, Cornwall Air Ambulance manages to provide pre-hospital critical care that can be the difference between the patient and life-threatening injuries. However, this lifesaving service is completely reliant on the generosity of the public, as well as sponsorship from organisations such as Ann’s Cottage. Cornwall Air Ambulance needs to be able to cover their average yearly running costs of the helicopter, as well as now raising £2.5 million to be able to provide a new and better helicopter for the people of Cornwall.

We are thrilled to not only be sponsoring the serving helicopters but to also be involved with Cornwall Air Ambulance’s next stage in which their mission is to raise £2.5 million. This money will help to bring a next-generation helicopter to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by 1st April 2020. This helicopter will be medically advanced, faster, better equipped and ultimately will help to save more time and more lives for the next 20 years.

Paula Martin, Chief Executive at Cornwall Air Ambulance: “As a charity, we rely on the support of the people and businesses of Cornwall to keep the air ambulance flying, so we are incredibly grateful to Ann’s Cottage for its generosity in sponsoring the air ambulance helicopters. Ann’s Cottage is a classic Cornish brand which has supported Cornwall Air Ambulance for many years. We’re pleased to display the company’s logo on the MD902 helicopters to show the people of Cornwall that Ann’s Cottage is helping to save lives.”

Here in Cornwall, we are incredibly lucky to have the Cornwall Air Ambulance service, their rapid response times and fantastic work really do save countless lives every year. Ann’s Cottage is truly honoured to be sponsoring both serving helicopters, as well as helping CAA to raise money towards a brighter and safer future.

We choose to sponsor five local charities that are very close to our heart. A new charity that we have started sponsoring in 2018 is Surfers Against Sewage who work to keep our oceans clean and protected. Find out more about their amazing work by clicking here.
